Who We Are

At the Chesterfield County Department of Mental Health Support Services, The Child-Adolescent Services Team, or CAST, serves Chesterfield County youths with behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring behavioral health and substance use problems to help them address these issues and develop the skills necessary to function well at home, school, and in the community. Whenever possible, CAST involves parents, family members, and natural supports and collaborates with schools, Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Home and other county agencies and private providers.

CAST services include:

  • family and individual therapy,
  • case management,
  • crisis intervention,
  • coordination of other specialized services,
  • Individual, family and group therapy,
  • Intensive mental health case management may include
  • psychiatric medication and other support services.

The CAST Substance Abuse program is a comprehensive program that does not treat substance use in isolation.
