Who We Are

Cardinal Care Medicaid is the federally funded medical care program for Virginia individuals who are elderly, blind, disabled, dependent children, and pregnant women. The program offers medical coverage for doctor visits, emergency room visits, hospitalization, prescriptions, medical supplies and equipment, nursing home costs, and home health care. The level and scope of coverage vary.

To be eligible, individuals must meet income and resource requirements. Supplemental Security Income recipients are generally eligible for full coverage. Aged, blind and disabled individuals with incomes less than 80 percent of the federal poverty level may also be eligible for full coverage.

Prior arrangements are needed for non-English speaking customers.

CommonHelp is the Commonwealth of Virginia’s fast and easy way to apply online for many Virginia social services assistance programs. You can find out what assistance you might be eligible for through a single online site and submit one application saving you time and effort.  Visit CommonHelp
